Dear Diary…

DEAR DIARY…
I hate Jenny so much. She totally told Jon that I fooled around with Brian behind McDonalds. I know it was her. She'll get it when she opens her locker tomorrow morning…
Do you swoon over other people's misery? Does a heartfelt love letter still make you cry like a baby? Well, then you won't want to miss Eyelevel Gallery's fundraiser Dear Diary, where people read their own (or other people's) most heart-retching diary entries, pathetic notes of passion, confessions of revenge and ridiculous resolutions.
On Friday March 9 at Bus Stop Theatre (2203 Gottingen Street), Eyelevel is hosting a night of real-life readings from brave souls in need of a hilariously cathartic experience. Following Dear Diary is a scene reading of Metamorphic Theatre's upcoming production, Creatures of the Moment (opening March 30 at The Space on Agricola), followed by the live music from Fall Horsie, A Helpful Diagram and Stacy Lloyd Brown. Doors open at 8pm, show starts at 8:30pm. Tickets are $5.
To secure your place at the microphone, email director@eyelevelgallery.ca with a very brief description of what you would like to read, or sign up at the door. If you're too shy but still want to experience the joy and release of "Dear Diary," Eyelevel Gallery will match your correspondence with an experienced reader who will interpret your words with kindness and spirit. Simply scan or email the words to director@eyelevelgallery.ca, or send a photocopy to Eyelevel Gallery, 2128 Gottingen Street, Halifax, NS, B3K 3B3. Some suggestions: Diaries, love letters, hate letters, postcards, emails, lyrics, phone messages, essays, calls for revenge. Anything that relives the pain of high school, university, bad break-ups, broken hearts or dreams…
